Mechanical Engineer

Are you a mechanically-minded professional looking for a challenging role that combines technical expertise with problem-solving skills? We're seeking a Day Mechanical Engineer to join our team at O-I, where you'll be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our equipment.
About the RoleWe're offering a competitive salary of £17.02 per hour, increasing with qualifications, as well as opportunities for overtime pay and a comprehensive benefits package.
In this role, you'll work collaboratively across different departments to identify and resolve issues related to equipment maintenance and improvement. Your strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks will be essential in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Prioritize safety and maintain a safe working environment.
- Perform regular inspections, repairs, adjustments, and maintenance of equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Participate in continuous improvement projects to enhance equipment efficiency and reduce downtime.
- Work effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve shared goals.
- Degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools, including grinders, drill presses, calipers, micrometers, protractors, gauges, wrenches, chisels, files, and scrapers.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
