About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Social Work Practitioner to join our Adolescent Service team in Kent County Council. As a Social Work Practitioner, you will be responsible for providing intensive social work support to adolescents and their families to manage complex situations, including extra-familial harm and family conflict.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Building trust with hard-to-reach young people and empowering them and their families to develop effective long-term solutions to manage their family relationships.
  • Developing strategies to overcome the risks that adolescents face during this phase of their life.
  • Working with adolescents and their families to identify suitable safe alternatives where it is not safe for young people to remain living at home.
  • Providing assessment, children in need, child protection, contextual harm, Court work, and rehabilitation home support.
  • Contributing to working groups and multi-agency forums to develop new initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Social Worker with a degree in social work CQSW, DipSW or equivalent.
  • Proven experience of working with children and families.
  • Interest in working with children who have experienced adverse life events or trauma.
  • Strong understanding of Children's social work legislation.
