Job Overview

Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Specialist Children's Learning Disability Nurse to join our team.

About the Role

The successful candidate will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to address the health, psychological, emotional, and behavioural needs of children and young people with learning disabilities and/or Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

Main Responsibilities
  • Manage and oversee a caseload of children and young people with learning disabilities and/or ASD.
  • Conduct assessments for the school-aged ASD pathway and provide support to families and carers.
  • Work collaboratively with other professionals to develop and implement individualised care plans.
  • Provide training and supervision to other practitioners within the service.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • Part 5 or 14 of the NMC register with 2-3 years' experience as a registered nurse or equivalent.
  • Ability to travel around the district.
  • Knowledge of Autism Spectrum Disorder and how to undertake assessments and support children and young people with ASD.
  • IT competence.
