The ideal candidate will have experience of successfully supporting Primary age pupils, a clear understanding of appropriate professional relationships and protocols when working with pupils and parents, and a willingness to undertake additional training as requested.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting children with special needs in a dynamic team
- Working alongside class teachers to promote a stimulating, inclusive, and accessible learning environment
- Offering 1:1 and group support in all subjects
- Delivering intervention and booster sessions, phonics, classroom management, and behaviour management
Requirements:
- Experience of successfully supporting Primary age pupils
- A clear understanding of appropriate professional relationships and protocols when working with pupils and parents
- A willingness to undertake additional training as requested
- An ability to work as a team alongside the Class Teacher and other Teaching Assistants
- A flexible approach to working
- A warm and nurturing disposition
- Experience in delivering individual language, literacy, numeracy, and social intervention programmes
- Excellent basic skills in Literacy, Numeracy, and ICT as well as an excellent command of spoken English
- Experience of working with children who are new to English (EAL) and their families
