The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience of working therapeutically with complex mental health presentations and an interest in working with people with physical health conditions.
Main Duties of the JobThe post holder will lead psychologically informed care in the team, working closely with psychiatry colleagues, a preceptorship psychologist, and Mental Health Liaison. They will be responsible for supporting patient assessment and review, working closely with practitioners, and leading the delivery of psychologically informed care. The role will also promote reflective practice and manage challenge in working with this complex patient group.

Job ResponsibilitiesThe post holder will work with Liaison Practitioners and the MDT to develop specialist and highly complex psychological treatment plans or management for patients with complex co-occurring physical and mental ill health. They will maintain a small therapy caseload of 2-3 cases and work with consultant psychiatry, team manager, and other psychologist in the team to consider the development needs of the team.
Person SpecificationThe successful candidate will have a postgraduate doctorate qualification in clinical psychology, including specific models of psychopathology, clinical, psychometrics, and two or more distinct psychological therapies. They will also have extensive experience or specific training in supervision, including trainee clinical psychologists and other professionals within the MDT.
Knowledge and SkillsThe post holder will have well-developed theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of clinical and health psychology, including specific difficult-to-treat groups. They will also have high-level knowledge and experience of research design and methodology, including multivariate data analysis.
