GPU Performance Modeling Engineer

We are seeking highly motivated and innovative individuals to join the GPU Performance Modeling Team at Apple. As a key member of this team, you will be responsible for driving advanced exploration for next-generation GPU architectures and micro-architectures.

In this critical role, you will work closely with all disciplines to identify bottlenecks and opportunities for improvement. You will analyze interesting workloads across existing and new product categories, architect new simulator features, and brainstorm novel ideas to boost simulation performance.

You will collaborate with world-class GPU & SoC Architects to steer and improve the implementation of GPU simulators and performance models used for research, performance analysis, and microarchitecture tuning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • C++ performance modeling of proposed architectural solutions and features
  • Carefully analyze and present results to enable data-specific architecture/design
  • Writing architectural specification documents in collaboration with engineers across different disciplines
  • Strong knowledge of computer architecture and micro-architecture
  • Strong communication, influence, and negotiation skills to enable data-driven decisions
  • Familiarity with a range of performance and/or power simulation environments
  • Strong coding skills including object-oriented programming with C & C++
  • Strong understanding of common data structures and algorithms
  • Knowledgeable in software design patterns
  • Knowledge of scripting languages such as Perl, Python, or Ruby
  • BS/MS/BEng/MEng/PhD in related field

Requirements:
