Public Health Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our Public Health team, working on Health Protection locally. The post holder will work closely with a range of teams and services to deliver health protection objectives and lead a team of practitioners.
Key Responsibilities:- Ensure the Health Board has robust plans and protocols for current and future threats to public health, including planning, facilitating, and participating in exercises and training, in partnership with EPRR colleagues.
- Support acute response to any public health incident, including attending IMTs/OCTs, working as part of the Health Board response, and deputising for the Consultant in Public Health where appropriate.
- Manage as part of a multi-disciplinary team the identification, prevention, control, and response to infectious and non-infectious threats to the local population.
- Have oversight of health protection workstreams, leading on some whilst also supporting practitioner-led work, such as vaccination equity.
- Provide line management to senior public health specialists.

Applicants must be on the GMC/GDC Specialist Register/UK Public Health Register for Public Health Specialists. Candidates for Consultant posts must also be on the GMC Specialist Register (including via CESR/European Community Rights) or will have a CCT/CESR (CP) date within 6 months of interview.
