Senior International Arbitration Specialist

The role involves working closely with partners and colleagues across the firm on high-value, complex international arbitration cases. These cases primarily involve transnational commercial contracts and international investment treaties between parties in multiple jurisdictions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with team members to develop case theory and strategy.
- Play a key role in drafting written submissions, overseeing junior team members in the process.
- Manage research and document review processes.
- Assist in preparing witness and expert evidence.
- Liaise directly with clients, witnesses, experts, tribunals, and opposing counsel.
Minimum Requirements:
- At least three years' experience representing clients in high-value, complex international investment and/or commercial arbitration.
- Excellent academic background.
- Status as an attorney in good standing with the District of Columbia Bar, including Special Legal Consultants, or eligible to be sworn in to the District of Columbia Bar upon employment.
- Additional languages to enhance the firm's international capabilities, particularly Russian.
Essential Skills and Knowledge:
- Ability to write clearly, economically, and persuasively in support of a client's case.
- Ability to identify relevant research lines and implement them with appropriate depth, care, and creativity. Good grasp of appropriate sources and tools for research.
- Ability to analyze complex legal and factual problems and identify challenges and solutions to a client's case.
- Strong understanding of contract and treaty arbitration law and practice.
- Rigor, accuracy, and ability to structure written work product to suit case demands.
- Ability to present a client's case confidently, succinctly, and persuasively, maintaining accuracy and credibility with a tribunal.
- Ability to manage own and others' work professionally and efficiently using commercially sound management practices.
- Ability to communicate effectively with individuals, teams, and clients at all levels and present confidently and with authority.
