Job Summary

As a Clinical Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in providing pharmaceutical services in our busy acute hospital setting. We are looking for enthusiastic and well-motivated individuals to join our friendly team of pharmacy technicians who are committed to delivering high-quality patient care.

Main Duties

As a Clinical Pharmacy Technician, you will be responsible for working on wards to provide a comprehensive medicines management service. This will include assessing patients' own medicines, medicines reconciliation, and counselling for discharge. You will also be involved in the governance of medicines through regular audits and be supported to develop the skills and experience required to practice at an advanced level.

Requirements

We are looking for qualified pharmacy technicians who are registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council. Experience of hospital pharmacy is not essential, as you will be well-supported in training and developing into this role. You will need to have good organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills, as well as be self-motivated and flexible in your approach to work.

Person Specification

Essential qualifications include a nationally recognised pharmacy technician qualification, an accredited accuracy checking qualification, and registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council. You will also need to have experience of working in a pharmacy setting and good time management skills. Desirable qualifications include experience working as a Clinical Pharmacy Technician or in a similar capacity, deputising for senior personnel, and participating in the training and mentoring of staff.
