About the Role

The Senior Media Relations Manager will lead one of the highest profile media offices in Government, communicating agenda-setting issues daily. This pivotal role at the heart of HMT's Communication Teams will manage a high-profile media service and create original media moments.

This position requires strong leadership and management skills, along with clear strategic and quick tactical thinking. Excellent political antennae, first-class news judgment, and the ability to clearly communicate complex ideas are essential.

Key responsibilities include working closely with the Chancellor of the Exchequer, special advisors, and senior officials to ensure HMT business is communicated in a clear and compelling manner. The successful candidate will oversee HMT's successful media relations operation and be accountable for the design and efficiency of the Communication team's systems and processes.

A salary of £93,000 - £105,000 per annum is offered for this role, depending on experience. Benefits include 25 days annual leave (rising to 30 after 5 years), flexible working patterns, and access to a generous Defined Benefit pension scheme with employer contributions of 28.97%.
