Job Title: Quality Control Laboratory Technician

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Control Laboratory Technician to join our team at a UK-based company specializing in advanced wound care and wound closure products. As a key member of our Quality Control team, you will be responsible for undertaking vital tests that support the production process of world-leading medical products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute protocols and generate reports as required to support QC Analytical.
  • Prepare in-house reagents for QC Analytical.
  • Promote and uphold Quality requirements within Manufacturing and other departments as required to support QC Analytical.
  • Take responsibility for organizing the workload through the laboratory with due regard to safety, accuracy, and minimal delay.
  • Input data into appropriate spreadsheets and databases.
  • Book laboratory chemicals and reagents.
  • Maintain laboratory housekeeping and wash glassware.
  • Ensure all testing is carried out to the Laboratory's standard operating procedures.
  • Manage data generated through the laboratory smoothly and ensure it contains all necessary information for accurate interpretation of results.
  • Raise laboratory investigations when required.
  • Order and restock equipment for all QC Analytical tests.
  • Check and counter-sign others' work.
  • Support other QC functions as required, including Receive/Inspection and Product Release.

Requirements:

  • Ability to prioritize workload.
  • HNC in Chemistry or relevant subject desired but not essential.
  • Previous laboratory experience essential.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Ability to operate relevant testing instruments.
  • Ability to analyze test results and present a report.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Flexibility in work scheduling and business needs.
  • Good communication skills, written, verbal, and presenting.
  • Able to work autonomously and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing work environment.
  • Computer literate, e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Lotus Notes, ERP systems.
  • AAS experience an advantage.
