Job Title: Lecturer in Statistics

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our Department of Statistics within the School of Mathematics and/or the Leeds Institute for Data Analytics (LIDA). As a Lecturer in Statistics, you will contribute to the University's research-led teaching and management of student education, playing a key role in developing outstanding graduates and scholars.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team and contribute to the development of online distance-learning postgraduate programmes in statistics and data science. You will be responsible for teaching Statistics or Data Science, developing pedagogic research and scholarship, and taking an active role in the development of our curriculum, aligning with the Institutional-led Curriculum Redefined principles and practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach Statistics or Data Science at undergraduate and postgraduate levels
  • Develop and deliver online teaching materials, using technology effectively and innovatively
  • Contribute to the development of our curriculum, aligning with the Institutional-led Curriculum Redefined principles and practices
  • Develop pedagogic research and scholarship
  • Take an active role in the management of student education

Requirements

We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a PhD, or equivalent experience, in Statistics or Computing, or a closely related discipline such as Mathematics. You will have a demonstrable ability to teach Statistics or Data Science, an enthusiastic and innovative approach to all aspects of student education, good communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to use technology effectively and innovatively in the preparation and delivery of blended learning material.
