Job Description:

We are seeking a Management Accountant Lead to join Hays Accountancy and Finance's team in Chorley.

The successful candidate will oversee the Management Accounting function for large projects/contracts, ensuring accurate financial reporting and analysis.

  • Provide leadership and guidance to the Assistant Accountant, prioritising tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Analyse monthly variances on actual financial performance compared to budgets and forecasts.
  • Review and discuss monthly P&L and balance sheet with the Senior Management Team.
  • Conduct thorough Balance Sheet reconciliations, highlighting potential risks and opportunities.
  • Develop and implement effective communication strategies to convey financial information to stakeholders.
  • Drive performance improvements across contracts and processes through proactive measures.

Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you must be a fully qualified accountant or finalist with experience as a Management Accountant in a complex business. Strong IT skills, including Excel proficiency and familiarity with ERP systems, are essential. Experience working under pressure is also crucial.

A daily rate of £12000 is offered, along with hybrid flexible working arrangements from office and home. This opportunity may lead to extension or even a permanent position.
