Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced technician to join our servicing and hire department at MacGregor Industrial Supplies Ltd. The successful candidate will be responsible for servicing, diagnosing, and repairing various types of plant equipment to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Equipment Maintenance and Repair: Conduct regular maintenance checks, diagnose faults, and perform repairs on plant equipment to ensure it operates within company standards.
  2. Quality Control: Maintain the highest standards of quality in all work performed, ensuring that equipment is serviced and repaired to meet or exceed customer expectations.
  3. Performance Targets: Continuously meet or exceed performance targets, including equipment service and repair completion rates, to ensure efficient operations.
  4. Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service, including cost estimation and administration, to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  5. Workshop Management: Maintain a clean and organized workshop environment, ensuring that tools, plant, and equipment are properly stored and secured.
  6. Vehicle Maintenance: Perform daily maintenance checks on assigned vehicles, reporting any defects or issues to the line manager promptly.
  7. Emergency Response: Be available and responsive to emergency calls during working hours, providing prompt and effective support as required.
Requirements
  1. Vocational Qualification: Hold a relevant vocational qualification, such as HND/HNC, City & Guilds, or SVQ Level 3.
  2. Technical Knowledge: Possess good mechanical and technical knowledge, including experience with diesel generators, air compressors, and pressure washers.
  3. Driving License: Hold a current valid driving license.
  4. Communication Skills: Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and customers.
  5. Problem-Solving Skills: Demonstrate good analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make decisions and take action as required.
