Job Title: Plant Equipment Technician

We are seeking a skilled technician to join our servicing and hire department. The successful candidate will be able to service, diagnose, and repair all types of plant equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Conduct equipment pre-delivery inspections to ensure quality and safety standards.
  2. Service, diagnose, repair, and test plant equipment as scheduled, adhering to departmental and company standards.
  3. Meet performance targets and maintain high-quality work standards.
  4. Diagnose faults and undertake core and trade works as instructed, ensuring quality and target achievement.
  5. Cost up customer repairs for parts and labor, including admin quotes.
  6. Maintain tools, plant, and equipment, ensuring workshop tidiness and security.
  7. Set up and operate equipment according to manufacturers' guidelines and procedures.
  8. Perform precision measuring and testing of equipment following clear procedures.
  9. Provide guidance and advice to apprentices through on-the-job training.
  10. Maintain accurate records of works undertaken, including job tickets and timesheets.
  11. Responsible for assigned vehicle maintenance checks and reporting defects to the line manager.
  12. Available for emergency calls during working hours for any work as instructed.
Requirements:
  1. Vocational qualification, e.g., HND/HNC, City & Guilds, and/or SVQ Level 3 in a relevant subject.
  2. Diesel generator and air compressor experience.
  3. Pressure washer experience is an advantage.
  4. Good mechanical and technical knowledge and understanding.
  5. Current valid driving license.
  6. Working knowledge of relevant systems, equipment, and processes.
  7. Good understanding of relevant regulations and procedures, including Health and Safety requirements.
  8. Ability to work independently and make decisions relevant to the successful outcome and conclusion of equipment servicing, repair, and test processes.
  9. IT literacy and good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  10. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  11. Ability to respond positively to new challenges and change.
