Job Description

As a Physical Training Instructor with the Royal Air Force, you will play a vital role in ensuring the operational preparedness of RAF personnel. Your primary responsibility will be to design and deliver fitness programs that promote healthy lifestyles and encourage individuals to reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement fitness programs for RAF personnel, including training sessions, fitness tests, and counseling.
  • Conduct fitness and health assessments to identify areas for improvement and provide personalized coaching.
  • Organize and lead sporting and adventure activities to promote teamwork and camaraderie.
  • Manage and maintain a range of sporting facilities to ensure they are safe and accessible for personnel.
Requirements:
  • GCSE at Grade C or Scottish National 5 grade C in English Language and Mathematics.
  • Registration with the Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity (CIMSPA) or other governing bodies.
  • Level 3 Personal Trainer Award registered with CIMSPA or other governing bodies.
  • Two years' experience teaching physical education within the last five years.
  • Aged 16-47 years old (Must attest before 48th birthday).
  • Citizen of the UK or the Republic of Ireland, holder of dual UK/other nationality or have been a Commonwealth citizen since birth (with 'right to work' immigration status).
  • Commit to minimum 3 years of service after specialist training.
Training and Development:

You will receive comprehensive training in your role, including a 10-week Basic Recruit Training Course at RAF Halton and a 21-week Specialist Training Course at RAF Cosford. You will also have the opportunity to pursue a Level 3 Personal Trainer Apprenticeship.
