Job Title: Emergency Planning Officer

Permanent 36 hours per week

This role participates in an out-of-hours emergency response rota, which attracts an additional allowance.

As an Emergency Planning Officer, you will be part of the Emergency Planning team, working in an area that spans from the centre of London to its edges. You will have a diverse range of risks and emergencies to prepare for, making for a varied and interesting workload with plenty of new challenges and projects to get involved in.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with external organizations such as the emergency services and voluntary sector, as well as other emergency planners from across London.
  • Help develop new capabilities that increase our preparedness.
  • Work in a project delivery environment with rapidly changing priorities.

We are looking for someone with an understanding of the aims and objectives of emergency planning and business continuity. Familiarity with the Joint Emergency Services Interoperability Principles (JESIP) and Civil Contingencies Act is also essential. Experience of using Microsoft Office packages, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, is required.
