Senior Strategic Procurement Specialist

Croydon Council is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Strategic Procurement Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our procurement team, you will play a critical role in delivering a strategic procurement service that drives value and efficiency for the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery of a strategic procurement service, focusing on critical procurements with high value, risk, and complexity.
  • Lead the development of procurement/sub-category plans in assigned spend areas, ensuring alignment with the Council's strategic objectives.
  • Design and deliver procurement solutions that provide cashable savings and process efficiencies, while improving outcomes for residents.
  • Provide commercial input into the development of medium to higher risk/complex business cases, ensuring market viability and compliance with procurement standards.
  • Lead the end-to-end tender process for assigned procurements, ensuring full compliance with standards and practices for tendering.
  • Support the promotion of compliant use of procurement and purchasing (P2P) processes and systems for assigned areas.

Requirements:

  • Working towards MCIPS qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of current and prospective public procurement legislation.
  • Detailed understanding of the procurement and commissioning lifecycle.
  • Ability to use procurement systems and support the tender process.
