About the Role
Foster Care Associates (FCA) is a leading fostering agency providing exceptional care to looked-after children. As a Senior Supervising Social Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting foster parents and their families to achieve outstanding outcomes.
Job Overview
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced social worker to join our team as a Senior Supervising Social Worker. You will be responsible for supervising and supporting foster parents, ensuring they provide a safe, healthy, and nurturing environment for children. Your expertise will also help identify needs within the foster family and contribute to meetings and tasks defined.
Responsibilities
- Supervision and Support: Provide regular supervision to allocated foster parents, ensuring they understand the fostering task, competencies, and standards expected.
- Child Centred Approach: Work in partnership with foster parents, other professionals, and contributing members of the child's network to ensure each child receives the best possible care.
- Documentation and Reporting: Ensure each child and foster parent are fully compliant with key documentation and attend relevant meetings or provide reports for Commissioning Teams.
- Participation and Promotion: Promote participation of children/young people in accessing resources and opportunities in their local community and participate in FCA's out-of-hours support service.
Requirements
- Qualifications: A Social Work qualification and professional registration with Social Work England or equivalent.
- Experience: Proven ability to produce high-standard reports and comprehensive knowledge of relevant legislation and child safeguarding procedures.
- Travel and Adaptability: Willingness and ability to travel extensively, including occasional nights away, and confidence in transporting children and young people in sometimes stressful/difficult situations.
Benefits and Salary
The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary of up to £39,952 per annum, dependent upon experience, plus benefits including company car or £2,000 car allowance, 30 days' annual leave, rising to 35 days with length of service, and life assurance.
