Job Title: Microwave Manufacturing Inspector

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Microwave Manufacturing Inspector to join our Operations Manufacturing team at our Luton site. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all of Leonardo's products meet the required quality standards and are free from defects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough inspections of all products to ensure they meet the required specifications and quality standards.
  • Identify and document any defects or issues found during inspection, and work with the manufacturing team to rectify them.
  • Use a microscope to inspect PCBs, bonds, and component placement to ensure they meet the required standards.
  • Assist in the investigation and rectification of any defects or issues on products.
  • Work in accordance with ESD and FOD disciplines to ensure a safe and clean working environment.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and yield enhancements.
  • Maintain a clean and organized working area, complying with ISO class 7 and ISO class 8 clean room standards.
  • Liaise with manufacturing and planning teams to ensure products meet the required deadlines.
  • Ensure that build processes and checks are followed, and that products meet the required quality standards.
Requirements:
  • Experience in inspection of wire bonding and die bonding.
  • Knowledge of hybrid microelectronic assembly, including device attachment methods and interconnection techniques.
  • Ability to inspect both repeat production and varied one-off types of work.
  • Attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Ability to carry out inspection of microwave work to MIL-STD 883H and BS9450.
  • Certified to IPC610 and able to apply requirements within the standards objectively and consistently.
  • Proven track record of quality assurance and inspection.
Desirable:
  • Previous experience of military and aerospace products.
  • Certification to IPC620, J-Std-001, IPC7711/21.
  • SAP knowledge.
