About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled CAD Technician to join our team at Baker and Baker Recruitment Limited. As a CAD Technician, you will be responsible for designing and developing systems for various programmes and project frameworks using CATIA V5 CAD software.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Design and develop high-quality models using 3D and 2D CAD tools, considering design form manufacture and assembly, quality of functional deployment, and finite element analysis data.
  2. Design system attributes and frameworks for processes and produce designs that meet targets for feasibility, performance, costs, quality, safety, legislation, and timing.
  3. Ensure all work follows company design, safety, quality, environmental compliance, and procedural standards.
  4. Interact with the Lead Engineer/CAD Manager/Chief Engineer to obtain critical design information and achieve targets effectively.
  5. Update and maintain product design files.
  6. Assist in improving daily processes to ensure systems meet required specifications and performance targets.
  7. Train and guide the team in design reviews with customers and suppliers.
  8. Determine limitations, assumptions, and solutions in design and development of CAD models.
  9. Analyse, design, and build business/technical solutions that deliver desired outcomes.
  10. Create detailed design documentation.
  11. Define, create, and maintain development methodologies, procedures, and standards.
  12. Produce final design specifications.
  13. Supervise junior and other relevant team members involved in project design.
Key Requirements:
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in CAD engineering.
  • Knowledge of materials and processes to ensure designs meet industry standards.
  • Experience with system design and delivery.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritise workload effectively.
