Legal and Governance Coordinator

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our Legal and Governance team at Acis Group. As a Legal and Governance Assistant, you will provide professional assistance and support to the Head of Legal and Governance and the rest of the team.
Key Responsibilities- Be the primary point of contact for inquiries related to land purchases and ensure that all necessary information is gathered to make informed decisions.
- Assist with Right to Buy/Acquire matters and Shared Ownership matters, providing administrative support to the team.
- Provide support to the team on routine legal cases, with training provided as needed.
- Update systems and notify colleagues of changes in property ownership and ensure that all spend by the Legal and Governance team at the Land Registry is accounted for and documented.
- Be the primary point of contact with insurers for claims and liaise with them to gather necessary evidence and documentation.
- Keep Signing and Sealing Registers up to date and ensure that all documents signed or sealed on behalf of the Acis Group are correctly entered into the appropriate register.
- Assist with maintaining statutory company registers and ensure that all necessary returns are completed on time.
- Schedule Board and Committee meetings up to two years in advance and ensure that all necessary arrangements are made.
- Prepare Board meetings by reserving parking spaces and ordering refreshments as needed.
- Handle Councillor or MP enquiries and complaints, ensuring timely responses.
- Keep track of Executive Leadership Team's and Head of Legal and Governance's credit card spend and ensure that all necessary documentation is up to date.
- Order and manage stationery and office supplies, ensuring that all necessary items are available.
- Oversee the review and update of Strategies and Policies within a three-year cycle.
- Ensure that all critical dates are on the relevant owner's radar and that necessary returns are completed on time.
- A great standard of education, with at least 5 GCSEs at grades A-C (or equivalent) with one being in English.
- Excellent typing skills.
- Fabulous communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently without supervision.
- Confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive information.
- Ability to prioritize workload effectively and manage changing deadlines and goals.
- Attention to detail and a clean driving license.
- Qualification in typing.
- ECDL or similar for computing needs.
- Experience working in a legal environment, particularly in conveyancing, disrepair, or other relevant areas.
- Ability to find creative solutions to a wide range of issues.
- Experience working in the housing sector.
- Knowledge of Data Protection principles and practices.
- Ability to adapt to change.
