About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager to join our Centre of Excellence in the Audit Quality Directorate (AQD). As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of audit quality at BDO UK.

Your primary responsibility will be to support audit teams on large and complex audits, focusing on revenue and other key areas. You will work closely with engagement teams to implement and execute high-quality audit strategies, incorporating controls and digital techniques as appropriate.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coach and assist audit teams in the implementation and execution of high-quality revenue audit strategies.
  • Conduct file reviews on live audits to enhance audit quality and provide coaching and training to engagement teams.
  • Assist the regulatory team during external AQR reviews, working closely with a CoE Director/Partner.
  • Develop innovative data analytics tools and solutions, as well as methodologies and guidance, for auditing revenue and other key audit areas.
  • Collaborate with the Audit Stream Learning and Development team to identify training needs, contribute to the development of training materials, and present and facilitate training sessions.
Requirements
  • Strong knowledge of substantive and controls-based audit strategies in the audit of revenue and other key audit areas.
  • Experience using Data Analytics procedures on engagements or providing methodology and interpretation support to audit teams in a central role.
  • Experience undertaking audit file reviews, either in a regulatory capacity or within practice.
  • Excellent communication skills, the ability to challenge engagement teams effectively, and a passion for coaching.
