Job Title: Maintenance Engineer - Apprentice

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Maintenance Engineer - Apprentice to join our team. As a Maintenance Engineer - Apprentice, you will be responsible for carrying out site repairs and modifications on both mechanical and electrical equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out site repairs and modifications on both mechanical and electrical equipment.
  • Undertake mechanical tasks such as fault finding, machine strip downs and rebuilds, planned and preventive maintenance, and mechanical installation.
  • Undertake electrical tasks such as fault finding, electrical installation work, planned and preventive maintenance, PAT testing, and programming temperature PID controllers.
  • Create risk assessment/method statements prior to commencing work activities.
  • Accurately record and document maintenance activities using the maintenance system.
  • Escalate any faults including estimated time of recovery and provide regular progress updates to the facilities manager.
  • Perform out of hours working to support critical maintenance, breakdowns and project work as required.
  • Participate in the creation of standard working documents, local instructions etc.
  • Work with sub-contractors to assist with maintenance, repairs and modifications to plant and equipment.
  • Assist with the control, ordering and replenishment of spare parts and components.
Requirements:
  • Proven relevant experience working within maintenance or repairs engineer role.
  • A strong knowledge of electrical systems (both single and three phase).
  • Mechanical experience of maintaining plant equipment.
  • Experience undertaking general fabrication work (mechanical and electrical).
  • Able to read and interpret electrical and mechanical technical drawings.
  • Proven ability to fault find on electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Strong organizational and planning abilities.
  • Well-versed in relevant software (e.g., CAD, MS Office, MS Project).
