About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Facilities Management Officer to join our team at Somerset County Council. As a key member of our Facilities Management Team, you will be responsible for providing premise management, health and safety statutory checks, and assisting with incident control, financial and procurement administration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct weekly health and safety tours and statutory checks
  • Assist with buildings user requirements and provide general technical/administration support
  • Perform premises management tasks, including health and safety checks, fire extinguisher checks, and alarm testing
  • Monitor building materials, report faults, and audit risk and CoSHH assessments
  • Work alone at FM managed premises in the North Somerset region, requiring access to own transport
  • Share manning of Hub helpdesk based in Bridgwater, answering emails and enquiries from internal customers
Requirements
  • Experience in a similar role or health and safety environment
  • Knowledge of health and safety related tasks and procedures
  • Excellent customer service skills and a natural problem solver
  • Organised, flexible, and adaptable with experience of using Word, Excel, and Outlook
