Job Summary:

Thistle Insurance Services is seeking an experienced Claims Manager to join our team. As a Claims Manager, you will be responsible for leading and managing the Claims Department to deliver a first-class Claims experience for our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Claims Leadership: Provide strategic direction and leadership to the Claims team to ensure they are equipped to handle complex Claims and deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Claims Process Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement and implement changes to enhance the Claims experience and reduce costs.
  • Stakeholder Management: Develop and maintain effective relationships with insurers, internal stakeholders, and other external partners to ensure seamless Claims handling and resolution.
  • Performance Management: Monitor and analyze Claims performance metrics, including acceptance, settlement, and declinature rates, handling times, and telephony response times.
  • Reporting and Insights: Provide regular reporting and insights to senior management on Claims performance and adherence to Consumer Duty principles.
  • Escalation Point: Act as the escalation point for authorizations, complaints, and fraud identification.
  • Team Development: Conduct regular team meetings and one-on-one sessions to discuss performance, provide feedback, and support personal development.
  • Audits and Compliance: Lead and manage internal and external Claims audits, providing oversight and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Continuous Improvement: Champion continuous improvement initiatives to optimize service, standards, and team engagement.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Claims Management role, with a strong understanding of Claims processes and procedures.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven leadership skills, with the ability to influence and manage teams and stakeholders.
  • Insurance Knowledge: Strong understanding of insurance products and services, including loss and damage Claims.
  • Consumer Duty Principles: Clear understanding of Consumer Duty principles and their application in Claims handling.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and able to analyze and present data effectively.
  • Communication Skills: Confident presenting to varying levels of seniority and able to communicate complex information effectively.
