Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Practice Lead to join our team at Digital Catapult. As a key member of our Business Development function, you will be responsible for leading commercial business development activities across the Energy & Sustainability sector.

As a Senior Practice Lead, you will interact with a broad range of industry customers and stakeholders to grow a robust pipeline and manage opportunities through to closure. You will oversee the portfolio of projects in-flight, managing and developing our strategic accounts, providing domain expertise to support the wider team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and own our plan for growing business in the Energy & Sustainability market verticals
  • Develop strong commercial relationships with key individuals within client and potential client organisations to enable further sales opportunities
  • Manage the end-to-end sales process - building a substantial commercial pipeline, sending proposals, negotiating and closing contracts
  • Interact with teams across the whole of Digital Catapult to bring the best technology to our clients to solve their problems
  • Build and maintain a deep domain knowledge in the sector
  • Leading on bids and tenders in the Energy & Sustainability sector on behalf of Digital Catapult

Requirements

  • Significant experience in business development / consultancy roles in the Energy & Sustainability sector
  • A strong track record of success in consultative selling – ideally in a professional services context
  • Experience in building a pipeline of >£4m and developing multi-million pound tenders/proposals
  • Familiarity with, and excitement about, innovation and emerging deep tech solutions
  • Experience of developing compelling offerings, thought-leadership positions and go-to-market initiatives
