Job Description

Yorkshire Water is seeking an experienced Asset Planning Sponsor to join their Water Service Delivery team. The successful candidate will be responsible for practicing Asset Management Principles, working closely with Operations and other stakeholders to understand business risks on Water Distribution assets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify asset risks or opportunities that may require additional intervention to resolve
  • Understand the Business Need in the context of the company's strategic, operational, and regulatory drivers
  • Lead investigations into asset performance shortfalls or opportunities and identify a notional solution where appropriate
  • Lead projects through the investigation phase, ensuring that potential solutions to new regulatory obligations or asset performance shortfalls are fully investigated
  • Drive TOTEX hierarchy opportunities and balance OPEX, CAPEX, and Carbon along with business needs resilience to achieve an optimum output
  • Commercial discussions and challenges with Contract Partners
  • Ownership of the Business Case and securing funding for the project through business governance routes

Requirements:

  • Engineering / process knowledge and experience of Clean Distribution Treatment asset base and its operation
  • Risk Management understanding and experience
  • Understanding of Yorkshire Water Performance Commitments
  • Influencing and negotiating skills
  • Well organised and methodical
  • Ability to understand root cause analysis
  • Understanding of Engineering Specifications
  • Understanding of site process safety - representation in Hazard Study Process

Location:

Flexible on base location dependent on successful candidates home location / Hybrid Working (office a week)

Work Type:

Permanent. 37 hours per week, Monday - Friday.
