Job Title: Contract Manager

The Procurement Contracts Manager will lead on sourcing, tendering, and quotation exercises via the Atamis procurement portal. The role holder will also take the lead on identifying and managing best procurement processes for different procurements while advising stakeholders of their responsibilities.

Main Responsibilities
  • Lead on specific/allocated areas of category spend, undertaking sourcing and procuring exercises that meet stakeholder requirements by demonstrating value for money and promoting an integrated approach in meeting deliverables.
  • Work closely with other stakeholders to support the requirements of the Trust and relevant third-party organizations.
  • Provide continuous opportunities to make efficiencies and cost reductions for the Trust and where appropriate, across multiple organizations.
Key Skills and Qualifications
  • Able to demonstrate highly specialist knowledge up to postgraduate/post-registration study or equivalent experience and knowledge within this field through practical experience.
  • Commitment to continuing professional development in line with relevant Institute requirements.
  • Chartered member of Procurement and Supply or working towards qualification.
Experience
  • Supervisory experience within a small category team.
  • Demonstrable experience of carrying out complex procurements for high-value contracts and developing appropriate evaluation methods.
  • Experience in planning, monitoring, and engaging with contractors and suppliers on pricing, service implementation, and service delivery.
  • Experience of managing and developing staff.
  • Demonstrable experience in managing the procurement of collaborative initiatives within the NHS to support local, regional, and national procurement initiatives.
Knowledge and Understanding
  • Understanding of the commercial mechanics of the NHS, or transferable knowledge from the private sector.
  • Experience and understanding of evaluating and measuring the performance of health services.
  • Knowledge and understanding of contract management.
  • Knowledge and understanding of NHS structure and organization. Trained in project management.
  • Knowledge of contract law.
