Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Documentation Specialist to join our team at LIBERTY Steel Group. As a key member of our Quality Assurance department, you will be responsible for leading all quality documentation activities, including preparation, generation, submission, and approval.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and direct the day-to-day activities of the Quality Documentation Department, including line management of Documentation Coordinators.
  • Evaluate documentation requirements of customer specifications at enquiry, bid, and contract stages to advise on any requirements beyond the capabilities of the mill or which may pose difficulties if accepted.
  • Manage and direct the preparation, review, and issue of quality documentation in accordance with vendor documentation requirements and timescales for submission to the customer for approval.
  • Manage, approve, and issue the preparation of internal test cutting diagrams and pipe stencilling instructions to ensure that pipes are tested and certified against customer specification requirements.
  • Review and endorse plate certificates, welding consumables, and paint certificates for releases for use.
  • Manage and maintain Document Control Database, reviewing, approving, issuing, and archiving documentation.
  • Prepare and attain third-party approval of welder qualifications.
  • Manage onsite archive storeroom, allocating shelves for storage and disposing of out-of-date records.

Requirements

We are looking for a candidate with experience within a similar field, preferably with a comprehensive working knowledge of the operations, inspection, non-destructive testing, typical specifications, and mechanical testing associated with line pipe manufacture. A qualified auditor with a minimum of 3 years' industrial experience and auditing qualifications focusing on ISO would be an advantage.
