Job Title: School Attendance Officer

4Recruitment Services is seeking a dedicated and experienced School Attendance Officer to join our team. As an Attendance Officer, you will play a vital role in supporting the attendance and welfare of pupils in the community.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for investigating and responding to irregular school attendance, working closely with schools, families, and students to identify and address attendance issues. You will also contribute to multi-agency meetings and take the lead on service interventions to support schools in reducing pupils at risk of persistent absence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide an additional service for schools to manage their whole school attendance strategy.
  • Investigate and respond to irregular school attendance at the earliest opportunity.
  • Direct work with schools, families, and students in connection with irregular school attendance, including home visits.
  • Contribute to or take the lead in respect of multi-agency meetings when necessary.
  • Identify children 'at risk' of becoming persistently absent and instigate early interventions to support a resolution for irregular attendance.
  • Take the lead on all service interventions which support schools in reducing pupils at risk of becoming persistently absent.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have access to your own vehicle and business insurance, as you will be responsible for commuting within our area to conduct home visits. You must also be customer-focused and able to work effectively with schools, families, and students to address attendance issues.
