About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and caring individual to join our team of Patient Transport Service (PTS) volunteers. As a PTS volunteer, you will play a vital role in helping NHS patients in your region by providing non-emergency transport to and from hospitals and other healthcare settings.
Main Responsibilities
As a PTS volunteer, your main responsibilities will include:
- Providing non-emergency transport for patients who are able to walk but may need assistance
- Transporting patients to and from hospitals and other healthcare settings
- Assisting patients with their luggage and providing support as needed
Requirements
To be eligible for this role, you must:
- Be 18 years old or over
- Hold a valid, full UK driving licence with no more than three penalty points
- Have access to a car with four or more doors
- Have access to the internet and email
- Be willing to take part in all stages of the recruitment process
- Be a good communicator

- A uniform and first aid kit
- A mileage allowance of 45p per mile, with an additional 5p per mile allowance when transporting a patient
