About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Senior Teaching Assistant to join our team at Long-term Teachers Ltd. As a Specialist Learning Mentor, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide tailored support to individual students and small groups, helping them develop essential skills for their future education or employment.
  • Safeguard students by following established policies and reporting any concerns to the appropriate team.
  • Assist with the physical, emotional, and educational needs of students, including personal care and mental health support.
  • Supervise and support students with SEND in various learning environments, ensuring their safety and development.
  • Plan, organize, and lead learning activities, adapting them as needed to meet the needs of each student.
  • Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and other professionals about student progress and well-being.
Requirements
  • Be able to do the job as described.
  • Have a strong understanding of how to support students with SEND, both in and out of the classroom.
  • Possess excellent communication skills to effectively liaise with students, staff, and parents.
  • Ideally be restraint trained.
  • Be proactive in planning and delivering tailored educational activities under the guidance of a teacher.
