Job Title: Specialist Learning Mentor
About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Specialist Learning Mentor to join our team at Long-term Teachers Ltd. As a Specialist Learning Mentor, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) to achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support to individual students and small groups, helping them gain essential skills for their future education or employment
- Safeguard students by following established policies and reporting any concerns to the appropriate team
- Assist with the physical, emotional, and educational needs of students, including personal care and mental health support
- Supervise and support students with SEND in various learning environments, ensuring their safety and development
- Plan, organize, and lead learning activities, adapting them as needed to meet the needs of each student
- Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and other professionals about student progress and well-being
Requirements:
- Be able to do the job as described
- Have a strong understanding of how to support students with SEND, both in and out of the classroom
- Possess excellent communication skills to effectively liaise with students, staff, and parents
- Ideally be restraint trained
- Be proactive in planning and delivering tailored educational activities under the guidance of a teacher
