About this role: We are seeking a skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team at Hawk 3 Talent Solutions. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the procurement of technical goods and services, ensuring alignment with our company's requirements.

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to enhance cost-effectiveness, quality, and continuity of supply.
  • Assist in building a supplier database to support the business.
  • Source components based on quality and price, collecting data and reporting supplier KPIs, and managing non-conformance.
  • Work closely with our Technical Department to support ongoing projects on all aspects of procurement.
  • Understand price analysis and interrogate suppliers' prices to determine value for money.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and subcontractors to expedite deliveries, ensuring that promised shipment dates are met and disruptions to our production schedule are minimised.
  • Ensure compliance with the Management System requirements for Health and Safety, Environment, and Quality.

Requirements:

  • A proven background in buying electrical and mechanical components in the engineering or manufacturing sector.
  • Professional Certifications / Member of CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply).
  • Proficiency in negotiation at all levels, with a track record of securing favourable terms and conditions.
  • Proficiency in IT systems, knowledge of SAP would be an advantage but is not essential.
  • Excellent interpersonal and team-working skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and external partners.
  • A systematic, logical, and organised approach to managing a high-volume workload.
  • Ability to work calmly under pressure and maintain professionalism, particularly during urgent and critical procurement situations.
