About the Role

Austin Fraser is seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused Mortgage Advisor to join our team. As a key member of our mortgage department, you will be responsible for providing accurate mortgage advice to prospective customers and supporting the Society's mortgage retention strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert mortgage advice to clients face-to-face and/or over the telephone.
  • Support the delivery of the Society's mortgage retention strategy through proactive contact with customers in advance of their current scheme ending.
  • Process mortgage applications on the Society software system and complete all procedural administrative documentation efficiently, liaising with the customer during the application process.
  • Maintain accurate records and notes throughout all stages of the mortgage application.
  • Approve mortgage applications within specified limits in accordance with Society Lending Policy.
  • Present out-of-criteria cases to the Credit Risk Committee with appropriate recommendations and rationale.
Requirements
  • Experience with Microsoft packages, including Word and Excel.
  • Maintain professional business relationships with BDMs, mortgage introducers, and external contacts, providing information and guidance when required.
  • Taking ownership of maintaining up-to-date knowledge of regulatory matters and sharing with colleagues across the Mortgage Department.
  • Meeting all requirements of the Training & Competence scheme.
  • Handling customer dissatisfaction and complaints as required.
Estimated Salary: £40,000 - £60,000 per annum
