Materials Engineer Specialist

Job Description:
As a Materials Engineer, you will be responsible for utilising your technical expertise to make critical decisions on material selection. Your responsibilities will include:
- Material Mastery: Utilise your technical knowledge and engineering judgment to select materials for our products.
- Root Cause Investigation: Lead or support technical troubleshooting efforts to uncover the root causes of material failures.
- Tech Initiatives Support: Back up our technical initiatives such as material compliance, dual sourcing, and parts verification.
- Design Integration: Collaborate with our R&D and design teams to ensure smooth integration of new products into our manufacturing processes.
- Process Optimisation: Develop and optimise manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency and quality.
- Bid Support: Work with the project team to develop cost-effective manufacturing approaches.
- Compliance Implementation: Implement and maintain control measures to ensure compliance with specifications and standards.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Educational foundation: Minimum of an HNC in relevant science or engineering field.
- Technical experience desired but not essential: Previous experience in technical manufacturing engineering roles.
- Proactive approach: Demonstrate a proactive manner with the ability to prioritise and support multiple projects simultaneously.
- Problem solving prowess: Exhibit excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyse complex technical issues.
- Detail-oriented: Show a keen focus on detail, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
- Communication skills: Display effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and lead technical projects.
