Supporting Students with Special Educational Needs

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Teaching Assistant to join our Special Educational Needs (SEN) department at Academics Ltd. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with various additional needs, including autism, ADHD, learning difficulties, mental health struggles, and physical disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group support to students with SEN, helping them to access the curriculum and achieve their full potential.
  • Assist teachers in planning and delivering lessons, ensuring that students with SEN are fully included and supported.
  • Help to create a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting social interaction and emotional well-being among students.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualized learning plans for students with SEN.

Requirements:

  • Relevant degree in psychology, criminology, or health and social care, or Level 3 qualification.
  • Previous experience working with children and/or adults with SEN, preferably in a school or college setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, teachers, and other support staff.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach to meeting the needs of students with SEN.
