The Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Financial Modelling Director to lead our Financial Modelling function in London. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining complex financial models, working closely with our clients and stakeholders to deliver high-quality results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and run complex financial modelling tasks for financings, including cash flow calculations and debt sizing.
  • Assist lenders with financial models during the financing process and support model auditors with model audit processes.
  • Maintain and update financial models pre and post financial close.
  • Support transaction execution and negotiations with counterparties, ensuring transaction documentation and structuring are consistent with the business case.
  • Manage due diligence activities, including coordinating the work of external parties and internal technical/commercial teams.
  • Prepare marketing and presentation materials.
  • Support internal processes for transaction assessment and approval.
  • Collaborate with senior professionals on business development, transaction, and portfolio management activities.
  • Support the management of relationships within the industry, including investment banks, due diligence providers, independent valuers, consultants, peer IPPs, and developers.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 8 years of professional experience in the renewable energy sector, preferably from an investment bank, financial investor, utility company, or developer.
  • Strong written and analytical skills.
  • Ability to develop, run, and take complete ownership of project finance-based financial models independently.
  • Experience of demonstrating commercial capabilities to create relevant solutions for clients that are profitable for the bank.
  • Strong commercial mindset and understanding of value drivers and risks of energy generation assets.
