At Octavius Infrastructure, we are excited to offer a competitive salary of £65,000 per annum for the role of Senior Planner.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Planner to join our team and contribute to the meticulous planning and execution of infrastructure development projects. As a key member of our delivery team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining project programmes, working closely with estimators and other teams to ensure successful project delivery.

The ideal candidate will have excellent engineering knowledge and experience in relevant disciplines, such as structures, buildings, geotechnical, earthworks, or highways. They will also possess strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and be proficient in planning software such as MS-Project, Asta Powerproject, or P6 Primavera.

In addition, the successful candidate will have a good understanding of NEC4 and its application to contract programmes, as well as construction design principles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain project programmes to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery;
  • Collaborate with estimators and other teams to produce commercially attractive programmes;
  • Identify and evaluate risks within the project scope, including planning, health and safety, environmental, and sustainability considerations;
  • Maintain legislative, governance, and customer compliance requirements;
  • Develop relationships with internal teams to promote resource sharing, innovation, and process improvement;
  • Continuously identify and implement more efficient ways of achieving current outcomes;
  • Prioritize safety, health, and wellbeing in decision-making processes;
  • Integrate environmental and sustainability considerations into project decisions;
  • Participate actively in corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives.
About You

To succeed in this role, you should possess:

  • A related degree, diploma, or vocational qualification, or equivalent demonstrable experience in civil engineering;
  • Completion of courses relevant to a career in planning;
  • Previous experience working with a tier one contracting group operating in civil engineering, highways, or earthworks;
  • Strong engineering knowledge and relevant experience;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Proficiency in planning software;
  • Good understanding of NEC4 and its application;
  • Knowledge of construction design principles.
