Electronics Design Engineer - APNT Systems

Raytheon Technologies is seeking an Electronics Design Engineer to join its successful Assured Position, Navigation and Timing (APNT) team. The ideal candidate will have experience in designing digital GPS anti-jam systems for the military market.

About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to work on a broad range of product designs, from concept to production. As an Electronics Design Engineer, you will be responsible for creating schematics, PCB design, component selection, evaluation and verification. You will also work alongside system engineers on architectures of electronic subsystems, develop requirements to ensure compliance with relevant standards, and generate supporting design documentation.

Main Duties:
  • Schematic generation, PCB design, component selection, evaluation and verification
  • Work alongside our system engineers on architectures of electronic subsystems
  • Develop requirements to ensure compliance to the relevant standards
  • Work alongside our embedded software engineers and mechanical engineers
  • Generate supporting design documentation and perform regular technical reviews
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience with embedded digital electronics and microprocessor systems
  • Experience of working with ADC/DAC, Memory technologies
  • Experience working with FPGAs and SoC technologies
  • Experience taking prototypes and turning them into production hardware
  • Experience designing PCBs in conformance with defence engineering standards/airborne standards
  • Experience in designing for manufacture
  • Able to present technical information clearly and concisely to others
  • Demonstrable analytical and problem solving skills
  • An openness to learn and try new techniques
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment - working independently or with others to overcome obstacles
  • Capable of analysing and reporting on technical data
  • Eligible or holder of current SC security clearance
Salary and Benefits:

The estimated salary for this role is £55,000 - £65,000 per annum, depending on experience. Additionally, you will receive 25 days holiday + statutory public holidays, contributory pension scheme, life assurance, flexible benefits scheme, enhanced sick pay scheme, enhanced family friendly policies, and more.
