About the Role

This Trainee Clinical Coding Officer position offers an exciting opportunity for individuals to develop their skills in clinical coding and contribute to the delivery of high-quality healthcare services. As a member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring that patients receive accurate and timely diagnoses and treatments.

The successful candidate will undergo formal training to become proficient in ICD10 and OPCS 4 Classification Schemes. They will also have the opportunity to work closely with clinicians, internal, and external members to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.

Key responsibilities include abstracting, interpreting, validating, analysing, terming, and accurately translating all nationally and locally required diagnostic and procedural episodic information using relevant classifications. Additionally, the post holder will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service by answering and resolving telephone queries, locating health records, and liaising with clinicians and other stakeholders.

To be successful in this role, you should possess a strong understanding of anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, and experience working in a patient services environment. You should also demonstrate excellent organisational skills, prioritisation abilities, and a proven record of requesting casenotes using Lorenzo.

We offer a competitive salary of approximately £25,000 per annum, based on location and industry standards.
