Job Title: Crime Solicitor

We are seeking an experienced Crime Solicitor to join our team at Gemini Recruitment.

Job Description:

The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of Crime work, including managing complex and sensitive cases, dealing with bail applications, serious fraud, white-collar crime, murder, drug crime, and theft. They will also be required to liaise with the CPS and courts, preparing statements and collating evidence.

Key Responsibilities:

* Report directly to Department Director
* Manage appropriate caseload types and complexities
* Attend clients, take instructions, and prepare cases
* Deal with correspondence
* Maintain accurate time costing procedures
* Implement recommendations made by supervisor following monthly file reviews
* Ensure compliance with file management

Requirements:

* Duty and Police Station Accredited
* Higher rights of advocacy qualification preferred
* Valid Practicing Certificate
* Committed team player and adaptable to new challenges
* Previous supervisory experience beneficial
* Proactive approach, excellent client care skills, and ability to deal with vulnerable clients
* Excellent networking and communication skills
* Ability to use own initiative and sound judgment
* Working knowledge of publically funded Crime work and ability to service privately funded cases
* Extensive experience in handling Criminal Defence caseloads
* Excellent IT skills, familiar with Microsoft Office applications and document management
