About the Role

Hartford Care is seeking an experienced Deputy Manager to assist the Home Manager in the day-to-day running of our care home. As a key member of our management team, you will play a vital role in ensuring our residents receive the highest standards of care and support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Home Manager in operational and financial aspects of the care home
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and standards through monitoring and practical support
  • Stand in for the Home Manager in their absence
  • Lead and inspire our dedicated staff team to deliver outstanding care
  • Develop and implement care plans to meet the individual needs of our residents
  • Monitor and evaluate the quality of care provided
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless delivery of care services

Requirements

  • Relevant professional qualification (minimum NVQ/Diploma L3)
  • Previous management/supervisory experience in a residential care home setting
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong IT skills
  • Good knowledge of CQC Fundamental Standards
  • Strong understanding of Person-Centered Care principles
  • Recent experience and knowledge of dementia care
  • Proven ability to lead, supervise, motivate, and develop a team of staff
  • Robust organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure
  • Excellent communication skills with residents, families, stakeholders, and other relevant bodies
  • Evidence of recent management and administration of medication competency
  • A flexible approach to working hours

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

  • NVQ/RMA/Diploma level 5 or equivalent management qualification
  • Experience in delivering internal training for staff members
  • A sound grasp of business and operational management within a large organisation
