About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Specialist Teaching Assistant to join our Education Team at The Children's Trust. As a Specialist Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality support to children with severe learning difficulties (SLD), profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), and complex therapeutic, medical, and health needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the development and education of all pupils in your allocated class, under the direction of the teacher and with support from the class team.
  • Provide a holistic approach to education, health, and care, working under the direct supervision of an allocated teacher.
  • Assist the teacher in providing relevant support for pupils with SLD, PMLD, and complex needs, including personal care and direct care.
  • Support access to learning and provide general support to the teacher in the management of pupils in learning opportunities.
  • Work collaboratively with the class team to ensure a high standard of care and education for all pupils.
Requirements
  • Experience working with children with complex needs, preferably in a school or educational setting.
  • Ability to work under the direction of a teacher and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to provide a high standard of care and support to pupils with complex needs.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced educational environment.
