BMS Project Commissioning Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled BMS Project Commissioning Engineer to join our team at Team BMS. As a key member of our commissioning team, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful commissioning of our building management systems projects.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Carry out full BMS commissioning to comply with project requirements, including production of schedules, descriptions of operation, and modification of panel designs.
  • Work collaboratively with our commissioning team to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Liaise with subcontract engineers and clients to report on design or engineering changes and issues.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring excellent customer service.
  • Manage day-to-day operations of subcontractors, ensuring efficient project delivery.
  • Attend site-based commissioning and progress meetings as required.
  • Oversee the overall commissioning of projects, ensuring delivery in line with the programme of works and intended design.
  • Perform field point-to-point checks, terminations, panel, and wiring mods as required.
  • Commission various DDC control systems, including TREND, Tridium, and others, completing wiring and commissioning schedules, updating control panel drawings, and describing operation in the commissioning file.
  • Produce daily reports of works carried out, highlighting any delays, causes, and timescales.
  • Ensure all 'AS COMMISSIONED' information is collated and returned to the relevant Project Manager or saved appropriately.
  • Update the Server on a regular basis.
  • Ensure witnessing packs are kept up to date and appropriately signed off.
  • Provide technical support to team members.
  • Carry out site surveys as required, producing fully detailed reports complete with recommendations.
  • Attend training courses and meetings as required.
  • Ensure works are carried out within the project method statement and risk assessments, amending as necessary with any required deviation reported to PM or H & S representative.
  • Enforce H & S interests of the company on a day-to-day basis for all employees and subcontractors, creating and enforcing method statements and risk assessments, and updating when necessary.
  • Produce IO wiring diagrams to be sent to panel designers and review designs once received from panel shops.
  • Produce RFI's and tech subs to be sent to clients.
Requirements:
  • Commercial awareness, with training provided as required.
  • Good understanding of Safe Systems of Work and the importance of H&S in the workplace.
  • Experience with at least two of the following systems: Trend, Tridium, Schneider, Siemens, ALC.
  • Knowledge of Niagara-based systems.
  • Ability to correctly interpret and alter existing control strategy in BMS systems.
  • Knowledgeable with HVAC systems.
  • Electrically competent.
  • Strong PC skills (Word and Excel).
