Ecologist Job Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Ecologist to join our team at Carrington West, a dynamic and growing private planning consultancy based in Warrington. Our client specializes in renewable energy projects and is at the forefront of the industry, delivering innovative and sustainable solutions to clients.

The Role:

As an Ecologist, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of renewable energy projects from conception through to completion. You will conduct ecological assessments, provide advice on mitigation and enhancement, and work closely with planners, engineers, and other environmental specialists to ensure that biodiversity is at the heart of project planning.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct Phase 1 habitat surveys, protected species surveys, and ecological assessments.
  • Provide ecological input into Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA).
  • Prepare and deliver ecological reports and mitigation strategies.
  • Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.
  • Support in obtaining relevant environmental permits and licences.
  • Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team on a variety of renewable projects.
Requirements:
  • A degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Experience in undertaking ecological surveys and assessments.
  • Strong knowledge of UK wildlife legislation and planning policy.
  • A passion for sustainability and renewable energy.
  • Full UK driving licence (essential).
  • Membership of CIEEM (desirable).
