We are seeking an experienced Ecologist to join our team at Neo Environmental Ltd, a leading planning and environmental consultancy. As an Ecologist, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality ecological services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct ecological surveys, including phase 1 habitat surveys, protected species scoping surveys, and bat surveys.
  • Produce comprehensive reports, including preliminary ecological appraisals, ecological impact assessments, EIA chapters, biodiversity management plans, and protected species reports.
  • Liaise with clients and statutory consultees to ensure effective communication and project delivery.
  • Attend client and site meetings to discuss project progress and requirements.
  • Undertake ECoW role where required, ensuring compliance with ecological legislation and regulations.
Requirements:
  • Degree in ecology or a related field.
  • Significant professional report writing experience.
  • Good knowledge of ecological legislation and regulations.
  • Experience of phase 1 habitat surveys.
  • Technically competent and able to work independently.
  • Full driving license and own transport.
Desirable Criteria:
  • CIEEM accreditation.
  • Demonstrable postgraduate experience in ecology surveys.
  • Ornithology experience.
  • Bat survey experience.
  • GWDTE experience.
  • Ecological Clerks of Works (ECoW) experience.
  • Knowledge or experience using ArcGIS or similar.
