Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Professional to join our team at Catch22 College in Maidstone.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students in achieving their academic goals by providing individualized assistance and guidance.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers to develop and implement lesson plans, ensuring students receive a high-quality education.
  • Manage student behavior and provide emotional support to students with special needs.
  • Contribute to the development of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and track student progress.
  • Provide feedback to students on their work and offer constructive suggestions for improvement.
  • Supervise students during breaks and lunchtimes, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Liaise with parents and guardians to keep them informed of student progress.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and development.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Level 2 qualification in English and Maths.
  • Knowledge of statutory requirements for health and safety, SEN, and safeguarding of children.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience working with students with special needs and challenging behaviors.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience working in an alternative provision environment.
  • Knowledge of curriculum requirements, particularly literacy and numeracy.
  • Experience working with disaffected and emotionally vulnerable students.
