Job Title: Electrical Craftsperson

Join our team at Breedon Group plc as an Electrical Craftsperson, playing a key role in ensuring the electrical network is safely maintained and developed to support the operation of our cement manufacturing site.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Actively take responsibility for your safety and the safety of others, using risk assessments and method statements to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Conduct dynamic STOP point of work assessments and raise safety observations to resolve issues promptly.
  • Participate in toolbox talks and engage with the team to promote a culture of safety and excellence.
  • As a multi-skilled electrical engineer, perform maintenance inspections and corrective works on heavy industrial equipment, including HV and LV assets.
  • Conduct electrical inspections and testing, fault finding, and repairing defects to ensure high standards of safety and electrical integrity.
  • Predictive and preventative maintenance of large motors and drive systems, including wound rotor induction motors and asynchronous induction motors.
  • Work with medium voltage networks, including switching methods and maintenance operations.
  • Develop and maintain a sound understanding of electrical maintenance methods and techniques.
Requirements:
  • Time served or apprentice training in Electrical Engineering, with advanced modern apprenticeship level 3 or equivalent.
  • City and Guilds 236 Pt 1 & 2 or 2230 Level 3 NVQ 2356/2357 or City and Guilds 2330 Level 3 in Electrical Installation or AM1 and AM2.
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulation BS7671 Certificate.
  • Preferred ONC/HNC or equivalent in Electrical Engineering.
  • HV Operational Safety Training Course C&G 9848-51 or equivalent.
  • C&G 2391-52 Combined initial verification, periodic inspection, testing, and reporting.
  • Proven relevant experience in electrical and C&I experience in a heavy industrial environment.
  • Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplined team in a heavy industrial environment.
  • Good working knowledge of the cement manufacturing process.
  • Sound understanding of electrical maintenance methods and techniques.
